The November 2018 data on the access to finance of enterprises (SAFE) are published

published: 28-11-2018

Since 2008, the European Commission and the European Central Bank (ECB) have collaborated on the Survey on the Access to Finance of Enterprises (SAFE).

Since 2014, the survey has been implemented by Panteia and GDCC and gives up-to-date insight in the financing conditions on SMEs and large enterprises.

Between 17 September and 26 October 2018, Panteia and GDCC have carried out the SAFE survey. The monitor covers 36 countries: all EU-28 Member States, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Turkey.

Enterprises in these countries have been asked about the challenges they experienced, including access to finance. In addition, enterprises have been asked about the extent applications to finance have actually been granted, which forms of external finance were available, and under which terms and conditions bank loans can be obtained. Panteia has subsequently analysed and reported the data collected.

Results can be found at the EC website and the ECB website
