Panteia research used in report on European competitiveness

Mario Draghi, former president of the European Central Bank, recently published a report in which he makes use of Panteia research findings. In the report, Draghi shares his vision for the future of European competitiveness.

In the first part of the report, Draghi discusses the opportunities and challenges facing European competitiveness. In the second part, in-depth analysis and recommendations are provided for several key sectors. As experts in the automotive industry, Panteia is featured in this section, drawing from our research State of Play of the Automotive regions.

A brief recap from our study:

  • The EU automotive industry has historically held a strong international position, with many areas of excellence.
  • Labour shortages and retraining, as well as the transition to EV production and adoption, are among the main challenges for automotive regions.
  • To better monitor the transition of the automotive industry in regions, the study recommends the establishment of a Monitoring Programme for Automotive Regions, focusing on KPI’s relevant for regions.

Draghi’s report can be downloaded here. Our research is featured on page 141.
