Douwe Grijpstra has thirty years of experience in policy research and analysis. He has led over four hundred projects and has executed over seven hundred projects commissioned by, among others, branch associations and professional organisations, ministries (especially the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations), regional governments, UWV, SBB and the European Commission. From 2013 until May 2018, Douwe was chairman of the Vereniging voor Beleidsonderzoek (Association for Policy Research). From 2011 until 2020, he was a member of the Human Capital Table top sector Logistics.

 

Douwe has substantive expertise in the areas of:

  • The labour market (labour market analysis and prognosis of labour market development for sectors/branches and countries, evaluation research on topics such as employment services, re-integration, lifelong development of workers and job seekers and the organization of labour market policies);
  • Vocational education (MBO, HBO, evaluations, research relating to the macro-effectiveness of new courses and to internship policies);
  • Personnel policies and European structural policy (especially ESF).
