Mark Hesseling
Drs. Mark Hesseling joined Panteia in 2025 as a Senior Researcher within the Society and Economy team. Mark is an educationalist with extensive and broad experience in the social domain. He is familiar with the socio-economic sector from various perspectives — as an (independent) researcher, policy and grant advisor, and as a member of review committees. His areas of focus include education, the alignment between education and the labour market, public-private partnerships, educational innovation, and teacher professionalisation. In addition, Mark has conducted substantial research in the field of sustainable employability and the application of insights from positive psychology. He has experience with literature reviews, interviews, focus groups, action research, and other quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Previously, Mark worked in healthcare, at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, for a research agency, and for many years as an independent researcher and advisor.
