Panteia contributes to SECTR: Better insights into transport and logistics

On 13 October, SECTR was launched as an independent knowledge centre for freight transport and logistics. Panteia contributes to this initiative through research and sector expertise. The aim is to provide reliable insights to support better-informed decisions by policymakers, businesses and civil society organisations.

During the launch, the first two SECTR reports (both in Dutch) were published, both of which involved researchers from Panteia. ‘Het wegtransport’ bestaat niet highlights differences in cost structures across road transport market segments. As a result, economic developments and policy measures can affect transport companies in very different ways. Arbeidsmigranten in transport en logistiek brings together existing knowledge on the employment of migrant workers in the sector. The research combines data from various sources with interviews involving industry associations, trade unions and transport operators.

Through these studies, we help provide a clearer understanding of the diversity and complexity of the sector. In doing so, Panteia contributes to SECTR's ambition to create a more comprehensive picture of freight transport and logistics as a basis for policymaking and public debate.
