Michel van der Mierden

Michel van der Mierden has been working as a consultant/researcher for the Transport & Mobility team since 2022, focusing primarily on sustainability and road transport, with a particular emphasis on Zero Emission transport. Additionally, Michel's area of focus includes transport tariffs, especially Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in road transport.

Michel has broad experience in transport, mobility, and policy. He previously worked as a mobility policy officer for a civil collaboration of three municipalities and as a consultant and researcher at a consultancy firm, where he primarily handled projects for various governments on truck parking and parking facilities for trucks.

In addition, Michel has significant practical experience in road transport. For ten years, he worked in the transport and logistics sector, both as a logistics employee and as an (international) truck driver.
