  4. Panteia signed the contract for the "EU Support to İzmir Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan" project

Panteia signed the contract for the "EU Support to İzmir Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan" project

We are pleased to announce that Panteia and MuConsult  (the Netherlands) together with its partners Rupprecht Consult (Germany), BNN (Turkey), Parabol (Turkey) and Polis (Belgium), have just signed the contract with the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Directorate General for EU Affairs and Foreign Relations, Department of European Union Investments (MOTI/DGEUAFR/EUID) for the project, “EU Support to İzmir Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP İzmir)”. We will also have the support of Ertico for this project.

During this project, our Consortium will draft, develop and implement the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). This SUMP will be prepared and adopted in accordance with the EU best practices and standards. The overall objective, is to contribute to the liveability and sustainability in İzmir by provision of safer, cleaner, accessible and affordable mobility. At the end of the project, Izmir will have a clear vision and objectives for future development of the city of İzmir, a list of concrete projects that will be implemented in the short, medium and long term, a financial strategy, and last but not least a monitoring and evaluation plan.

It is important to mention that as part of this project, we will develop various workshops, trainings and citizen’s engagements events which will allow us to validate all the results with all the local stakeholders. This will assure that all the outputs of the project have support not only from the Client but from the Izmir community in general.

If you want to know more about the project, please contact our colleague Carolina Ramos.
